Excerpt:
I looked out my office window, down
to the yard, my eyes to the bustling activity, and I did this tapping my phone
on my desk.
I should be working but I wasn’t
thinking about work.
I was thinking about Jacob.
More precisely, I was thinking
about calling Jacob, had an overwhelming urge to do so.
I was also trying not to do so
because I had a boyfriend, even though he was a boyfriend I wasn’t all that
sure about. He was sweet, he was into me, but he was just… off.
Then again, I didn’t have a lot of
experience so what did I know?
Additionally, after my dinner with
Jacob last night, within an hour, I’d called him after ten at night and now it
was only eleven thirty the next day.
I didn’t want him to think I was
psycho, and calling him would imply psycho behavior. Further, when I called him
last night, I’d asked him to dinner, which was dinner two nights in a row with
a woman he hadn’t seen in nine years, a woman with a boyfriend, and that was
semi-psycho.
Okay, maybe it was totally psycho.
I didn’t want Jacob to think I was
psycho.
Ever.
But I wanted to hear his voice. I
wanted to connect with him on the phone. I’d missed him and I liked having him
back. I liked it a great deal.
I also missed him a great deal.
And I needed to ask him something.
Further, he was the only one I could ask.
I looked from the yard to my phone.
My mind telling my thumb not to do it, my thumb not listening, I found Jacob’s
contact and hit go.
I put it to my ear.
“I’m a psycho,” I whispered and
luckily finished whispering two seconds before Jacob’s voice sounded.
“You okay?” he answered.
He kept asking that mostly, I
figured, because I kept calling when I didn’t need to so he probably thought
something was wrong.
Or that I was a psycho.
“I need to know if you don’t eat
anything,” I lied.
Actually, it wasn’t a lie. Although
I remembered a lot about Jacob (most everything, in all honesty), I couldn’t
recall if there was something specific he didn’t like to eat.
I could recall how beautiful he
was, how tall he was, how strong he was. I could recall how smart he was and
how funny he was. I could recall how cool he was with me. I could also recall
how much I missed him. But I couldn’t recall if he didn’t like chicken.
But that wasn’t the only thing I
needed to know. I needed to know something else too.
Much like last night, when he
didn’t make me feel like a psycho, in fact, the opposite and sounded like he
was happy to hear from me and would be willing to talk all night, he again
sounded like me psychotically calling him yet again in a precursor to stalker
way was no big deal.
“I don’t eat it, I’ll pick it off.”
“You can’t pick it off if I cook
with it in it or if the mainstay of
dinner on the whole is what you don’t eat,” I informed him.
“You makin’ Indian food?” he asked.
“No. Don’t you like Indian food?” I
asked back.
“Love it,” he answered.
“Then why’d you ask if I was making
Indian food?”
“ ’Cause I hoped you were.”
I burst out laughing.
No, Jacob definitely didn’t make me
feel like I was being a psycho.
When I quit laughing, I told him, “Sorry, honey, I don’t
know how to make Indian food.”
“Shame,” he muttered, a smile in
his deep, attractive voice, and if I was on an infrared scanner, specific parts
of me would have shown up hotter.
You
have a boyfriend, Emme! I told myself.
For
a while, I answered myself.
Jacob
is also your ex–best friend’s ex-boyfriend, Emme! I reminded myself.
So?
I asked myself.
I shoved those thought aside,
thoughts that, if anyone knew I was talking to myself in my head might prove I
was indeed a psycho, and pointed out to Jacob, “You haven’t actually answered
the question.”
“I’ll eat what you cook, Emme. Cook
what you like.”
He was such a nice guy.
He always was.
Nice. Tall (very tall). Handsome (unbelievably handsome). Smart (so damned
smart). Funny. Interesting. Gentlemanly. And a repeat of nice because it was
worth a repeat since he was just that nice.
I liked all that about him. I liked
that he wore his dark hair way too long. I liked that sometimes a thick hank of
it fell over his forehead and into his eye. I liked that he was who he was and
didn’t wear designer jeans or put gel in his hair. I liked that, even
considering he was extortionately intelligent, in fact, a genius, he never made
anyone feel less than him because they weren’t as smart. I liked that he never
acted superior or arrogant and with all that was him, looks, body, brains, he
was one person who could. And I liked that he liked to do what he liked to do,
he did what he liked to do and wouldn’t get pushed into doing something he
didn’t want.
Like Elsbeth tried to do.
He’d lost her to that and he’d
accepted it. I knew it killed. He’d loved her to distraction. But he refused to
be the man she wanted him to be and instead was the man he was.
She should have seen she had it all
even if he didn’t make bucketloads of money and thus couldn’t give her the life
she was used to getting from her daddy. Country clubs, tennis lessons,
vacations in villas in Italy and beaches in Thailand, fabulous homes kept by
maids and fabulous meals cooked by cooks.
She didn’t see all she had.
Stupid.

About the author:
Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana, and has lived in Denver, Colorado, and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.
Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multigenerational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland, and Kristen grew up listening to the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon, and Whitesnake. Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Author: Kristen Ashley
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Ally Nightingale has secrets. Secrets she doesn't even share with the Rock Chicks. But two men know what she's up to. One has her back. The other has her heart, but he doesn't know it.
As Ally rewinds the last year of her life, she knows two things. One, she’s never going to get what every Rock Chick should have—her own Hot Bunch guy. And two, she’s a Nightingale through and through. She just isn’t sure what to do about that.
But as her secrets are revealed, the men in her life react. Darius Tucker, a lifelong friend, as usual takes her back. Ren Zano, the man she loves, isn’t quite so sure. The Rock Chicks, Hot Bunch and the entire gang at Fortnum’s weigh in, and a Rock Chick Revolution starts brewing.
It’s up to Ally to control it and prove what she knows down to her bones.
She’s a Rock Chick, she deserves her hot guy and she’s going to keep the one she wants…
Because she’s a Nightingale.
My Review:
“My name is Allyson
Nightingale, but everyone calls me Ally. And I’m a Rock Chick, in name and
deed. … I worship at the shrine of Rock ‘n’ Roll and I live the rock star life,
doing what I want when I want how I want.”
When Chas emailed me and asked me if I wanted to be part of
the scavenger hunt and Review Rock Chick Revolution Before release I was
Ecstatic! This is the first time since I started my Blog that I am officially
doing something to help out Kristen and I feel very honored to be a part of
this tour.
I started Reading Kristen’s work with the Dream Men Series .
I soon came to the realization when I started the Rock Chick Series that
Kristen was my all time favorite author. This woman has a writing style like
nothing I have ever seen before. It is Unique, it is fun, she can truly pull it
all off in one book or in this case one series. If Kristen has written it I will read it, No
matter what it is. I still have a couple of her series to read myself, but I am
saving those for when I need a full blown Kristen Ashley Fix.
Ok Enough of my Hype about me getting this book before
release, let’s get to this righteous review !!!!
Knowing that this is the last book in this series is tough,
but I know that I always will have the books to fall back into anytime I need a
Rock Chick fix. This series was my favorite from Kristen out of all the ones I
have read. We got 8 Rock Chick woman and 8 Badass hot bunch men in this series,
and it was a truly amazing series. I
have laughed, cried, felt my heart break and be put together by this bunch,
been right in the middle of all of their ideas, Badassness, and so much more, and
I am truly going to miss them all. Although it is hard to say good-bye to the
Rock Chick Bunch, We all know we can re-read them at any time when we are
missing the gang.
I honestly don’t know if I have the right words to put into
this review as this Series has been a HUGE success for Kristen and well we all
know EVERYONE loves the Rock Chicks and their Badass Hot Bunch Men. I sure do not want to go into details about
any of the plot or how things might turn out. If you have followed this series
from the beginning, then you need to FEEL this book just like I did, fully, and
completely. God knows I think I have 95% of the book Highlighted and I would
LOVE to share it with you But I refuse to ruin this for anyone.
With that said I will say this:
I truly Loved Ally, I have loved her since the beginning of
this series and I am happy that she finally got her own Rock Chick Book and She
helped this series go out with a Badass Bang for sure. She was total badass all
the way through. She showed everyone how much she was Just like her father,
brothers, and that what she does is in her blood.
“… the bottom line
is, I love doing it. It’s in my blood. It’s me.”
“In one night, he
made me believe in the modern-day fairytale I watched all my girls get, and he
made me believe life had that in store for me. And he made me want it.”
Ren, what can I say I LOVED HIM, he might not be a part of
the Hot Bunch But he has his own kind of hotness and badass of his own and he
truly was awesome. He was not totally into what she wanted to do , but he
understood and they talked things out. He did not just let her run off and do
her thing without talking. He cared that much. He understood what Ally needed and wanted and
he chose to stand by her and give her what she ultimately wanted!
“You’ve got your way,
the way you are and the way you are with the ones you care about. And that
tells me, a man gets in there, you give that to him, the children you give him,
that man will be all kinds of lucky. And I’ve decided we’re gonna see if that
man is me.”
We got to see and learn what made these two click together
so well. It was not an easy start at all, but I did not expect anything less.
We get to see Ally and her brothers, and the bond they all truly have for each
other. We get Mom and dad and see how much Ally truly means to them as well.
We leave her in your
care, you better take that seriously.”“Are you kidding me?” I yelled before Ren
could say a word, and Lee looked at me.“Ally, I’m your brother. Do you think I
wouldn’t say anything?”“I’m thirty-two, not sixteen,” I retorted.“You’ll always
be sixteen to me.”
We didn’t just get Ally, Ren and her family either, we got a
little more of every Rock Chick and her Hot Man, we got some more story about
Darius. (which you will LOVE) and I am pretty sure we will be getting more from
Daruis as well. We get to see Loyalty,
family, friendship, and Love all rolled into one damn BADASS book. We get a sneak into a future series that is
coming that I know I for one CAN NOT WAIT FOR !!!
ROCK ON !!!!!!!

”Don’t regret what you did. Don’t regret the decisions you made. You did right. You followed your heart and that is never wrong, darlin’ But shit went down extreme. That’s over, Lanie. Long over. Move on.”
Hop total Alpha Man , Which we knew he would be he is one of KA's Bad*** bigger guys . He is protective, hot, tattooed, totally sexy.He is a member of The MC club and he stands by the fact that they all protect each other and are family. He is willing to protect all things Chaos. They struggle, they fight, they argue, there is Drama, but we all love KA and her drama with her Men .
”Thank you, Hopper Kincaid. Suitcases. Sandwiches. Chinese. God’s country. Sweet kids. I didn’t go to sleep last night buried under emotional exhaustion. I went to sleep looking forward to seeing you. That’s a miracle, honey, and you have to know I appreciate you making that miracle happen for me.”
But in the end
”He’d done it. Pulled her out of the shadows and brought her into the light of family.
And she was basking in it.”

Book Review - Lady Luck (Colorado Mountain, #3) by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 starsWOW , amazing how you can finish a book and want WAYYY MORE OF Ty and Lex . KA has done it again and this one to me topped them ALL so far I do believe .
Ty Walker was wrongly imprisoned and for the five years he was inside, he honed his plan so when he gets out, he has nothing but vengeance on his mind.
But then he walks straight to stylish, leggy, beautiful, goofy Lexie Berry and he suddenly has something else to think about. He knows within seconds he wants her and within days he can love her but with the filth that was flung at him clinging; he also knows he can’t have her.
Since birth, Lexie Berry has been Lady Luck’s favorite toy and because of that, Lexie is cautious. But within a day, she senses Ty is something special. With her luck, however, she can’t trust it. Then she finds out what was done to Ty and she’s willing to do anything to make it right.
Even what Ty will never forgive her for doing.
Ty clings to vengeance and Lexie goes all out to give him back the time he lost. But Ty is battling demons within and they’re up against dirty cops and criminals who will stop at nothing to sway Lady Luck against them. All Ty and Lexie have is hope Lady Luck will finally swing their way.
I love the Plot of this story line, because honestly this kinda thing everyday in out world . Men are sent to prison for something they did not do and are dealt with things outta their control all the time .
to sit in a jail cell for 5 yrs and do nothing but plan out your vengeance is not unheard of at all . I truly felt for Ty going through that .
Ty is just amazing. I am totally in love with this man. And MAN being the word, that he is. God, beautiful man... He Had me right from the moment he walked outta that prison and asked for the keys to the car. Bold, in charge nothing held back with this Alpha Male ... I knew from the get go I was gonna LOVE this man . The diamonds right of the bat, the sweet little note left on the pillow, right down to the sweet little calling Lex mamma .. I was melting and melting bad ..
My Ty

their sex scenes OMG Wanted more and more and more .........
“<…>"No, Ty, you drew it when one second you had your tongue in my mouth, your hands on me and me on my back in your bed and swear to God, swear to God, that was all you had to do, I was this close," she lifted a hand and held her thumb and forefinger an inch apart, "to climax just with that and the next second you took it all away from me. All of it and you fucking know exactly what I'm talking about because the next second I was standing on my feet, you were two feet away but you might as well still have been in fucking California and then I watched you shut down."<…>”
Lexie had it rough growing up...quite honestly she had it rough up until she met Ty Walker! Even having it as rough as she did and Lady Luck slapping her wrist every time she tries to reach for something good she was still a beautiful woman and I'm not talking about her appearance. She had the inner beauty of an angel, the inner beauty of a person anyone would be lucky to have in their life! The moment she met Ty she knew she was all in and there was nothing going to hold her back from that hunk of a man .
My Lexie

“Right. Love you, Ty."
"Done to my bones, mama, right back at you.”
I absolutely LOVED this epilogue .. It truly made my heart melt and it was sooo long I loved, loved , loved it ......
If you have not read this you need to , you need to see how much Ty has and How much Lex has to offer .. it truly is an amazing read .... KA knocked it out again with the Male alpha and she did it fantastically ..........

Book Review - Own the Wind (Chaos, #1) by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars10 Freaking Stars KA has done it again . I Freaking LOVED this book ...
Once again KA has done it with another book . I had no doubt in my mind that this book would ROCK , but I will say it ROCKED way more than I thought it would . This book was ABSO-LUTELY-FAN-FLIPPIN-TASTIC ….
I am pretty sure I have 85% of the book highlighted. I mean she really laid down the smack down with this one and the verbal back and forth was AMAZINGBALLS … in true biker style .
I will say this if you have not read the Dream Man series , you should before you read this one , because this one branches off of that series and in order to get the full effect and get all squishy and lovey , from the Cameo’s you need to read that series , so when the men and woman from the Dream Series make appearances you can truly appreciate the book fully.
Tabby is the daughter of the Motorcycle club Own Tack, and Shy is a Brother in that club. As anyone who knows anything about biker clubs, daughter’s are off limits . Shy and Tabby have always been friends , but what Shy does not know is that Tabby has had a crush on him for a longtime , and what Tabby does not know is that Shy has been crushing on her for the last 4 yrs . He still had the taste of her on his tongue from one kiss ( total swoon moment there )
"I had a taste of you four years ago that I could never get off my tongue. Now, I've tasted more of you with more than just my mouth and I know I wanna keep it in a way I don't want to think of it bein' done. Not in a few weeks. Not in a few months. Maybe not ever"
Parker “Shy” Cage , just his name is amazing in itself, but add to that biker attitude , a little romance , and a whole lotta looking out for and protecting and he is AMAZINGBALLS ….
Shy see’s Tabby going down a road she should not be going and he decides to step in and try to guide her away from her path that she is on. What he did not do was think before he decided to do what he did and it did not go so well for him . Tabby in turn being hurt deeply by him , stayed clear of him as much as she could .
When tragedy strikes Tabby, Shy steps in to help her heal and becomes her friend and shoulder to lean on . he helps her to heal and become herself again. ( no no one major dies )
"You need a safe place to just forget shit and escape, I'll give it to you. Tonight. Tomorrow. Next week. Next month. That safe place is me, Tabby.""
They go through some ups and downs and ins and outs, but once they become a couple it is Amazing from then on out with them together. Shy owned up to his screw –ups apologized and they moved on , It was awesome how well these two are fit for each other .
I LOVED this story , it has so much hotness to it, protectiveness , Love, & emotions. The Epilogue was there , although not as long as what KA usually does , but I was very happy with the end of this book and I know we will hear from Shy and Tabby in the rest of this series . I can not wait to see where it goes with Hop and Lanie in the next book .
These are some more of the quotes I LOVED in this book , but not all of them or My whole book would be a review lol .
"Promise me right now, my d*** still inside you, you naked on top of me in my bed, sharing what we just shared, us having a taste of what it's like apart and knowin' were better together, you won't leave me.... You'll stick with me until there's nothing to stick to, if that ever happens.""
"May feel like you're fallin', Tabby, but remember, I'm at the bottom ready to catch you."
“ I have never, not once, not in my life, made love to any woman. Not once. Not until what I just did with you .”
"Shy, she's yours... Control your woman," High demanded. "Get her a** out."
My eyes went to Shy to see him looking at High, and he wasn't looking pissed.
He was looking reflective.
Then he said, "Tab and I don't play it that way. You wanna order your old lady around, do what you do, not for me to say. I asked her to go, she didn't go. Not gonna make her. But you try, you'll deal with me.""
“I dreamed a dream, Shy.”
“You’ll dream more dreams, baby.”
“I’ll never dream,” she whispered, her voice lost, tragic. “We’ll get you to a dream, honey,” he promised, pulling her closer.
“ I dreamed a dream when I was sixteen and here I am, standing with my dream, feeling it come real.’

Book Review- Raid (Unfinished Hero, #3) by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 starsCan I just hit repeat here and say HOW MUCH I ABSOLUTELY LOVE KRISTEN ASHLEY !!!!!!! I love her writing , I LOVE her alpha men , I LOVE her story line .. I LOVE everything about KA !!!!! If you have not read this series yet you seriously need to get to it NOW .. KA knows how to pull you in and keep you there until the last page turns and your still wanting more ..
I truly hope this is not going to be the last Unfinished Hero !!!!
I LOVE Raiden ,I LOVED how he was a "hero" in this book, although I did not think he was much of an unfinished one. I think he just needed help with dealing with all he had been through, and Hanna Guided him and helped him to get through those demons.
I LOVED Hanna ,I loved how sweet, innocent, caring, loving, I loved EVERYTHING about her. I want to be girl in one of KA's stories JUST so I can truly experience all the ALPHA MEN LOL ...
I LOVED Hanna’s Great Grandmother, Miss Mildred , that woman warmed my heart with everything that she said . She was a very wise woman and she showed Hanna just how wise she was .
“You’re in love with me?”…
“Absolutely”
Book Blurb:
Hanna Boudreaux has lived in the small town of Willow, Colorado all her life. The great-granddaughter of the town matriarch, she's sweet, cute and quiet.
Too quiet.
Hanna has a moment of epiphany when she realizes her crush for forever, Raiden Ulysses Miller, is not ever going to be hers. She sees her life as narrow and decides to do something about it.
Raiden Miller is the town of Willow's local hero. An ex-marine with the medal to prove his hero status, he comes home, shrouded in mystery. It takes a while but, eventually, Hanna catches his eye.
But after all these years of Raid and Hanna living in the same town, the question is, why? Is Raid interested in Hanna because she's sweet and cute? Or does Raid have something else going on?
This has some BDSM.
“If you’re the kind of woman who can withstand the blaze of hellfire he’s got burning inside, he battles that and wins, you will know nothing for the rest of your life, no taste, no experience, not even the birth of your children that will be sweeter than the love he’ll have for you”
“You’re my reward, Hanna.”
