The pain was unbearable, but I had to keep moving. I had to keep running because, if I didn’t, he’d find me. I looked behind me as I ran through the streets; scared, alone, and in the dark as the mist of rain hit my face. There was no time to think, and there was no time to stop. My shoes were soaked as they sloshed through the puddles of the dimly lit streets.
My name is Rory Sinclair, and the night I was violently attacked was the night that changed my life forever. One man, a man named Ian Braxton, made it his mission to heal me, to save me, and to show me a world that previously had been only a dream to me.
Ian Braxton is far from perfect. He’s a self-absorbed, demeaning, arrogant, and womanizing millionaire. He makes it so easy to hate him, but so very hard to resist him. We’re from opposite sides of the spectrum. He comes from money and I come from poverty. When our worlds collide, his struggles become mine, and mine become his, leaving us with one question:
How much would you give up to be with someone who was meant to be yours?

As soon as I stepped through the door and into the kitchen, Ian grabbed me and pushed me up against the wall, holding my arms above my head. “Don’t turn your back on me, Rory. I’m sorry. I don’t think you’re trash. I think you’re broken and I can fix you,” he whispered in my ear.
His hot breath traveled down my neck and my body went into a near convulsion. I wanted him, but I knew if anything were to happen, it would destroy me. I would become too emotionally attached and when he got tired of me and moved on, I wouldn’t recover. He brought his face to mine as he stared into my eyes.
“I’m not broken. I’m shattered. I’m a million tiny pieces that would take longer than forever to piece back together. So please, do me the favor and don’t even try,” I whispered.
His grip on my arms lightened as he let go and took a step back, giving me one last look before he turned around and walked away. I stood and placed my hand on my neck where his hot breath had touched me. I took in a deep breath and walked upstairs. Tomorrow was the day I start my life over, alone.

Antoinette Candela is a little shy with a larger than life personality. Suffering from Peter Pan syndrome, she refuses to grow up. She finds inspiration for her writings from everyday life, through her fun and quirky interactions with friends and family and the drama that never ceases to disappoint.

One thing is for certain, Antoinette lives by her own rules. As a Bostonian she loves the Yankees and is proud to wear her “I Love Derek Jeter “T-shirt. You can catch Antoinette on the beach soaking in the rays, but when the rumble of the thunderstorm rolls in, she’s curled up with a book or tapping away on her keyboard.

Mother, Writer, Reader, Lover of Music and all things learning, Antoinette is the charismatic author of Breaking Elle.

Hi Antoinette, thank you for agreeing to this interview.

1. What inspired you to write your first book?

My love of reading and writing got me here and it helps to have my head in the clouds, fantasizing, with a ton of ideas and characters in my head. So, the natural next step was to put my thoughts down on paper.

I love a good love story and since life sometimes love doesn’t work out that way. I wanted my ideas and fantasies to come alive in the pages of a book and make the ending my own. Some of it what you see in my first two books are as inspired by own personal experiences and some that I wish I had.

2. What books have most influenced your life most?

I have read many different books in my life and I cannot say any really influenced me. I think just writing in general and being in awe of those who were able to write a book. WAIT. A. MINUTE. I take that back, now that my mind is racing as I type, I have to say reading Colleen Hoover's books inspired me. Her writing is clean and flawless. The symbolism and just the emotions she evokes in her books is amazing.

But I just don't find inspiration in books alone. I find that real life interaction and experiences with other people influenced me. I love where I am because of whom I've met and where I've been and I try to bring a little piece of my life and experiences in my stories.

3. Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?

Pepper Winter's name instantly comes to mind. I've seen her books and have bought a couple and have not read them read yet since I was in the process of writing mine. I heard that her writing is amazing. I also heard great things about Tijan's and cannot wait to take a break to read!! Something about these two writers intrigues me and I have not read one word of their writing.

4. What are your current projects?

Projects! LOL. I have five currently running in my head.

and I just started my third book a standalone novel for Tyler’s character that I have been dying to write for awhile. I want to take my time with this one and not go through the same crazy deadlines I had for Breaking Elle or Wanting Reed. There is no definite release date right but it is sometime in 2014.

5. Where do you get your ideas?

I've always been a dreamer. I wrote my first romance about the crush I had on George Michael that was of course before I found out he preferred men! My brother got his hands on the notebook and that was all she wrote. I think that was my first kissing scene!!

Where do I get my ideas you ask?

I'm a little nosy, a good listener and a people watcher. I love to observe people in their daily interactions at the coffee shop, at work, standing at the train stations, the gym! Anywhere. I get a lot of my visions and scenes from being out and about.

I live my life through my books. I write from my own personal experience, like something I wish I could have done, a place that I wish I visited. I live the life I've always wanted through my books and meet the people I did not have the courage to meet because in real life I'm pretty shy!

6. Do you work with an outline, or just write?

Outlines? what is that? No never. I just write what comes to me. I could be listening to the radio and a certain song comes on that could trigger the way a scene develops or words that are said. The whole writing and thought process is really amazing!

7. Is anything in your books based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

I mix it up a little bit. I think I answered that question up above. I have used co-workers as characters or based some characters on family members and past boyfriends.

8. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I love Tarryn Fisher and CJ Roberts. Love their writing style and how they weave a story! The characters are so vivid and relatable and all of the male leads are so damn swoony!

9. Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?

Okay. This is a question that I hate to answer since only a few months ago this gorgeous man was alive, but Paul Walker. Was my ideal real life boyfriend. I tend to lean towards blonde blue eyed men. And he was it for me the one person I would have loved to have met him! HE was not only beautiful, a great actor but a great human being.

10. How do you relax?

I don’t! No, seriously it may sound crazy but working out does it for me. I hit the gym four times a week!!! You would be surprised how many scenes have come to me as I am running on the treadmill!!

11. Any amusing story about marketing books that happened to you?

Hmm.. No.. I have only been in the crazy indie world a year. I am a tiny fish in a big pond right now but I love being part of this Indie World. I have made some really great friends some of them authors and some of them avid readers! They have helped me through this journey and I cannot thank them enough!

12. What is the hardest thing about writing?

Everything!!!!! Edits are the worst, deadline, rewrites, writers block! Need I go on? It is a pretty crazy list!!

13. What is the easiest thing about writing?

Having a laptop and an iPad! I do not know how anyone could have written with pen and paper. And of course..the fact that I can take a break when I want to. I am my own boss and I set the hours and the deadlines!

14. Do you have any advice for other writers?

Write your story! Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there!! If you get one reader to love your book then you have done what you have set out to do. That's what I told myself every day and when I hit publish on my first book and got my first great review I reached my goal! Someone is going to want to read your story and meet your characters! We all have a story to share.

15. Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?

I truly do appreciate and I am grateful for all the reader’s who have bought, read, and told their friends about my books and who are anxiously waiting for more. More you say? Yes there is more! And I cannot wait to start! I hope my readers stick around for my third book that comes out later this year.

I’d like for readers to go out to Amazon, Barnes and Noble to one click my books! And don’t forget to leave a review!! My reader’s opinions really matter to me and inspire me and challenge me to write better stories!

Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview

From the acclaimed bestselling author of Lost to You and When We Collide comes a new adult novel of one woman’s obsession: a man who’s as passionate as he is elusive—and as tempting as he is trouble…

Aleena Moore is haunted by Jared Holt. It’s been six years since she’s seen her brother’s best friend, the self-destructive bad boy she secretly loved in high school. As the years pass, she knows it’s time to move on. Time to decide between a practical nursing degree and her true dream as an artist. Time to get over Jared and give another guy a chance…
Just when she opens her heart to her friend Gabe, Aly returns home to find Jared sleeping on her couch. The teenage boy she loved has grown into a man she can’t resist. Covered in tattoos and lost in rage, he’s begging to be saved from his demons—the memories of the day he destroyed his family. As the two reconnect, their passion is hot enough to torch Aly’s judgment. But can she risk her future for a man who lives on the edge of destruction?

My 5 Star Review:

This story is simply beautiful. It is full of emotions, love, hurt, pain, angst. This story is so raw and real. Amy has definitely out done herself with this story, It is so beautifully written & truly amazing.

If I write a review there is no way I can do this book any justice. It is simply one I feel you need to buy, read and experience yourself without other’s telling you all about it.

I will say this I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this story and I cannot wait for more of Jared and Aleena!!! I will be patiently waiting for book #2 in this series.

Yes this is a 2 book series, this one does not leave you in a bad cliffhanger, more of a happy for now one. You know you’re going to get more from Jared and Aleena.

Some quotes I loved include:

“I see beauty and pain. Joy and sorrow. I see the good and I see the bad . . . and I love it all.”
“...I would do anything to keep Aly safe. Safe from him. Safe from me. Safe from anyone who even for a minute thought of messing with her.”

"Memories swirled through my mind like the whirlwind she was, the little girl who'd barely had to look at me and I already know what she wanted or needed. Mom once told me Aly had me wrapped around her little finger. She'd been wrong. Aly had held me in the palm of her hand."

"I knew I should push her away because this girl who'd managed to sink her fingers into my spirit was going to end up as just another one of them - a fucking perfect memory to torture me through the rest of my life.

"Instead I clung to her, crushed her to me because I couldn't stop myself from taking from her until the moment she was taken from me."

Exclusive Interview with Amy!
Hi Amy, thank you for agreeing to this interview.
1.     What inspired you to write your first book?
I used to write a lot when I was in college, but it was more just poetry that I kept in a journal. Once I got married and had more children, it kind of became something I didn’t do anymore. But about six years ago, I started reading a lot, and it really ignited that passion to write. So I finally sat down and started to write what would eventually be my first book, Pulled.
2.     What books have most influenced your life most?
Definitely Gone with the Wind. It truly established my love for reading and romance. I was in fourth grade when I read it, and it was one I will never forget. I have to believe it contributed to what I write today.
3.     Are there any new authors that have grasped your interest?
Oh yes, a couple of weeks ago I read Night Owl by M. Pierce. Completely loved it. Excited to follow this author.
4.     What are your current projects?
I’m currently working on Come to Me Softly, which is the sequel to Come to Me Quietly. I also have a special project in the works that hasn’t been announced yet, but I’m really excited about it.
5.     Where do you get your ideas?
Ahh…this is so hard to say because really they just come to me. I usually see the characters first and I get a faint idea of what their story is about. Then they just grow in my thoughts and their story comes to life.
6.     Do you work with an outline, or just write?
When I first began writing, I worked off a very detailed outline. I think I was worried if I didn’t stay on track, my book wouldn’t come together. Now I write from a very loose outline. Usually the book comes out looking nothing like I’d planned (mostly because I write too long and can’t fit half the content I’d initially planned in there LOL ;) )
7.     Is anything in your books based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?
There are always life experiences I draw from, but I’ve never written an entire book based on one experience.
8.     Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
My favorites right now are Colleen Hoover and Molly McAdams. They both pour a ton of emotion into their work.
9.     Which famous person, living or dead would you like to meet and why?
Oh wow…this is difficult! I think I’d really love to meet Nora Roberts, but only if she wants to tell me all her secrets ;) JK but seriously, it’s truly inspirational to me that she’s written so many works and managed to keep her readers engaged. I hope to be that type of prolific author and I’d love to learn from her and how she manages to keep her stories fresh.
10.  How do you relax?
Reading! It’s the only time I can really turn off my racing thoughts.
11.  Any amusing story about marketing books that happened to you?
I did a local book fair about a year ago, right after Lost to You came out. We had the cover blown up and put on an easel… I didn’t even think how many heads it would turn. All these old men kept stopping, pointing at it, and snickering. Some of the women smacked their husbands for looking. So apparently we were in the WRONG CROWD LOL
12.  What is the hardest thing about writing?
The amount of time it takes me. Sometimes I’ll sit there for hours and absolutely nothing comes. It can be very frustrating, but I’ve come to accept that’s just the way I write.
13.  What is the easiest thing about writing?
Editing. I used to think it was the hardest, but now I embrace it and love to see the way my stories are shaped through the process.
14.   Do you have any advice for other writers?
Make sure you love it. This business is very difficult, and can be filled with frustration and disappointments. But if you truly love it, then it’s worth it.
15.   Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
Just thank you. The last years have been an incredible journey, and I love having shared it with you all. I’ve made the most incredible friends in this reading and writing world, and I’m so thankful for all the messages and love I continually get from you all.
Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview

RELEASE DATE: September 9, 2013

Synopsis:

**Warning** This book is intended for a mature reading**

"Alpha heroes you'll want to kidnap and keep, heroines to root for, and sizzling love scenes with emotional punch." Carly Phillips, NY Times Bestselling Author

Greg Cage was born to protect. While growing up, he was his mother and sister’s shield against the world… until he failed. For the last decade, he has carried that guilt and need for vengeance around… until it was stripped from him. Now, with his best friend getting married and no longer needing his protection, he is even more lost, completely adrift, and desperate for some control. All he has ever known was how to protect: his family, his friends, and his country. Can he go against everything he has ever known, and give up that control?

Melissa Larson will never let anyone hold the reins in her life. She has been the rock in her family for more years than she can remember, and the fight to keep them together is her main priority right now. She has always been fiercely independent and proud. The last thing she will ever do is ask for someone else’s help. But when that choice is out of her control, forcing her to rely on others to save her and her family, and pick up the pieces that are left, will she be able to let someone else be her strength?

The second Greg locks eyes with Meli, he knows that she is someone he needs. Someone he craves. Meli knew the second she met Greg that he would be nothing but trouble and heartache. Her life takes an unexpected turn, and that bitch Fate is back to wreak more havoc on another member of the Corps family.

All hell breaks loose, leaving Greg no choice but to call in a favor. He hooks back up with his old friend Braxxon Breaker from the Breakneck MC. Together, they make sure that nothing threatens anyone Greg loves again.

My Review :

You know when you read the first book in a series and you are dying to get your hands on the next one because the first one was just so damn Good? Well that is how I feel about this series. When I read Axel I fell in love with Harper and her writing style as well as her characters in the book. I knew Cage was coming next and I was craving his book soooo Much. When I got my Email yesterday with My ARC of Cage I dropped everything I was reading and doing and Jumped right in head and feet first because I knew It was going to be THAT DAMN GOOD, and guess what Harper has not disappointed me !!!!!!!

We first Met Greg in Axel's Book. We found out that he had lost his sister to an abusive husband and He had vowed that although he could not protect his sister that all future woman in his life would get his protection. In Axel we met Greg through Izzy, she was like a sister to him and he had helped her through some difficult times.

I fell in love with Greg in that book alone, But in this book I fell head over heals for him. He is 100% swoon worthy, he is sweet, protective, loving, caring, total 100% alpha Hot Man!!!!!

“Trust me when I tell you that I have lived a life that makes me know when something is worth fighting for. I took one look at you and knew you were worth it to me. It’s new, I get that, but I know you feel it too.”

Greg has found his soul mate and he will stop at nothing to get her and to protect her. He wants to make her his and his alone. She is someone he craves. Swoon points big time he calls her Beauty!!!!

“You don’t have to be strong all the time. Let me take it, Beauty. Let me be your rock. Let ME fight. For Christ sake, let me be who you need.”

“Whatever this might have been for you before now baby, there is no trying or going slow. I know you felt it; it was all over your face. I feel like I just found a piece of myself that has been lost forever. A piece of the puzzle that I didn’t even know was missing until you walked into my life. This, us… baby, I will work as hard as I can and then some to prove to you that you have nothing to fear.”

Melissa is amazing, she is a strong willed woman who takes no crap from anyone. She can surely take care of herself and she has no problem with telling someone how she feels. She is fiercely independent, she stops at nothing to protect her family.

When he settles his hips against mine and sinks deep, the last coherent thought that filters through my mind is that I want him to be my white knight. I want him to save me from me.

"You're a good man, Greg Cage. You give me some time, and I might just fall in love with you." "That's the plan, Beauty."

Although there was some issues for these two to work out they did it and they overcame them all and came out stronger in the end.

“You’re such a beast,” I speak softly into his ear before nipping his lope lightly with my teeth. “But I’m your beast, and baby… every Beauty needs a Beast.”

Little Cohen, Who you will meet also, he is so damn cute, funny, I love the stuff that comes out of his mouth and you will be laughing right along while reading like I was. Like I always say the things outta the mouths of babes.

Another thing I LOVED was even though this was Greg's Book we still saw some of Axel, Izzy, and the rest of the Corps Men and woman. Totally makes you love the story even more with all of the best characters in a story. One thing I truly LOVE about Harper and her writing style is that Everything runs smoothly together in the story and even having all the characters it is not over done , but at the same time you still don't want the story to end either.

Harper Has done it again, I lOVED Axel, I LOVE Cage and now I will be not so patiently waiting for Beck !!!!!!!

A side note:

I Absolutely LOVED getting a snippet with Cage and Braxxon Breaker from the Breakneck MC If you have read the Breakneck series By Crystal Spears then you got a little treat with Cage in Withstanding. If you have not read that series I strongly suggest it.

one more thing If you have not read this series YOU MUST!!!!! If you like Kristen Ashley's Alphs Men then you surely will not be disappointed at all!!!!!

                                                     About The Author:

Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husband’s chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her ereader attached. As an ex-reviewer and blogger, Harper's passion for reading runs deep. It wasn't until 'Axel' decided to take up residence that she realized her true calling.
She started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
                                              Interview with Harper Sloan

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? Well, a typical day is making myself wake up (after hitting the snooze button about 10 times) and getting my oldest two ready for school. Then praying that my two year old sleeps for at least an hour. LOL! Daily I play mom, run the house, control my husband ( J ) and try to keep the voices quiet J Night I spend with said voices and trying to keep myself off facebook. I’m just a boring chick that loves to read almost as much as I love to write! I have a nasty mouth, and a love for all things man candy!

2. What do you do when you are not writing? READING! I will always be a reader at heart!

3. Do you have a day job as well? I do not. Well, unless you count mommy as a job.

4. Can you tell us about your upcoming book? I can tell you that Beck is up next. I know a lot of people are getting frustrated with Dee and her running but have faith my loves… she’s had a heavy load on her shoulders. Other than those two… there are some big, unexpected changes coming. J

5. Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination? Oh girl, I never kiss and tell ;)

6. What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment? Every single time I get a message from a reader I feel like it’s the best compliment. There are TONS of books out there and they gave ME a chance. Regardless of what they loved and didn’t love, that right there is the biggest compliment. You know, there has been a lot that is hard to take, at times, as an author. These stories are in a way a small piece of me that I am saying ‘hey, judge me!’ I read all my reviews and yes, some of them hurt like a bitch but I take it in and try to make it better next.

7. Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers? Don’t give up. There are times when you feel like you just can’t do it. Or when you get a particularly rough review, sales or down, or that damn block just wont die. BUT DO NOT GIVE UP.

8. Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans? I love you! I know, I know… pretty unoriginal but it’s the truth. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for each reader and fan. So, I love you!

9. If the author could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why? Hmmmm…… Kristen Ashley, so she can tell me where the hell I can find Kane ‘Tack’ Allen in real life!

10. If you had to go back and do it all over, is there any aspect of your novel or getting it published that you would change? There are small parts that I would change. I wouldn’t trust as easy. Or believe that every person willing to give you ‘advice’ is really looking for the best for you. As for my writing, I wrote my characters how THEY wanted to be told and in the end, I’m proud of myself and them. <3
