Synopsis
Gage Thomas (G.T.) Gavelson fell in love with his Angel when he was just a pint sized kid. Both beautiful and smart, he always felt she deserved so much better than him. Growing up beside her in the club only continued to test his will power, until one night, he gave into temptation. Realizing he couldn’t allow himself to hold her back from the life she deserved, he pushed her away, allowing her to believe she would never be enough for him. Letting her go had been the hardest thing he’d ever done. Even though he’d thought it’d been the right thing to do, not a day goes by that misery doesn’t consume him for it. When a tragic shootout occurs, everything changes as once again their lives are intermingled. When you find your way back to the one person you are meant to be with, forgiveness should be easy. But sometimes, we hurt each other too much to ever be able to forgive. Is their love strong enough to heal their pain?

Excerpt
The morning air strikes across my skin as I step
out of the clubhouse slowly walking to my car. I’ve had to say good-bye to Harlow twice now, but
this one is by far the hardest. The weight on my shoulders is bogging me so far
down; my legs find each step difficult. I do not want to leave. This is my
home, the only life I’ve
ever known.
And
my only connection to my father Bam, but it’s what must be done.
I
place my hand on my stomach closing my eyes and breathing in deep the air
rushing through my lungs. It’s
funny how life repeats itself. I think that it’s Dr. Phil that says ‘past
behavior predicts future behavior’ and to
hell if that isn’t the
truth.
Walking
up to my white and red Chevy, I slide in slowly turning the key into the
ignition, the car roaring to life. My eyes focus on the garage and my heart
sinks as I slouch in my seat, the weight becoming too much. Hours I’ve spent inside that building learning, but the
best were the ones I spent with my Dad side by side under the hood of this car.
He spent such meticulous time teaching me everything he could, always patient
and answering the thousands of questions one at a time. It was the best time of
my life.
Growing
up in the club had its difficulties, but with each challenge that has been
thrown in my face, I came out a stronger woman because of it.
I
never knew my egg donor of a mother, who happened to be a club momma. As soon
as I popped out of her stomach, she handed me over to Bam and never looked
back. I don’t even
know her name and at this point in my life have no intention of ever finding
out.
I rub my stomach and disappointment scatters
through my body. How could someone just dump their child and never contact them
again? Never want to watch them grow up? The thought is just inconceivable to
me.
Even
though it doesn’t make
sense, it’s what
mine did. Bam never had a choice on whether to raise me or not, but I never
once felt like a burden on him. True, my life growing up was very different
from the life of my other schoolmates, but I loved it and wouldn’t change a thing.
For
me, being strapped to a Harley before I could walk and attending parties where
guys smoked cigarettes, drank booze and kissed barely clothed women was the
norm. Watching fights break out over stupid shit almost every single day is the
way of the club. Don’t get
me wrong, I was always cared for, mostly by Bam, but when he was busy, the throng
of club mommas entered in and out of my life to temporarily care for me, none
ever staying long enough to form any kind of connection to.
Bam
was there though as much as he could be. He’d have tea parties with me and play this
wrestling tickle game that always sent me into fits of laughter. I loved him…I
still love him. His life lessons were the best education a little girl could
have. I never had to ask him, it was like he knew what I needed when I needed
it.
When
the time came for boys, he always told me that no man
is good enough for my baby. At the time, I rolled my eyes, but now I crave
to hear those words come back out of his mouth.
I
hang my head down to my chest willing the tears to stay at bay. I will
not cry. I’m
stronger than that.
Bam was able to do it, raise me that is. Even
with the struggles, he did it. I can too, but in order to, I need to get away
from here and find out who I am. I need to do better for myself and for my
baby, my family. I want a life here, but unfortunately that is not possible
right now. It’s not
my choice, but that of my baby’s
father.
Even though he doesn’t know about this precious gift I have growing
inside of me, he’s made
it perfectly clear that he doesn’t want
a life with me anywhere in it. It seems
he’s too interested in chasing pussy to ever settle
for just one. It guts me and shreds my heart that I’m not good enough. But I’m learning to accept it, even if it kills
me. He left little room not to.
But I need to get myself together and stop with
the ever impending pity party of poor me. I am not a poor me kind of woman.
Thanks to Bam, I’m a
grab life by the balls, deal with the consequences and make myself a future
kind of a woman. That is what I am doing by leaving. I have every intention of
coming back, every intention of introducing my child to his father and every
intention of making my relationship with Harlow work. As soon as I have my head
on straight.
Lifting my shoulders, I put the car into drive
and set off for the new life that I have planned for my baby and I.
About the Author
I'm a mom and a wife who works full time. I have a huge obsession with collecting paperbacks and reading. Becoming an author, wasn't exactly what I set out to do, it just happened. I needed something to help me get rid of the feeling of being 'just a mom' or 'just a wife' that was consuming me and writing became that outlet. My book(s) cover some tough issues which are hard for some readers to digest. I am grateful for every single one of you who read my books.

“Sugar, you just stirred up a shit storm.” The southern drawl to his voice mixed with the smell of leather, cigarettes, and radiating testosterone would have made my pussy clench, but he ruined that by pressing a damn gun to my head.
“Low, don’t.” I ignored Casey just as I always did. Quickly, I turned my body. As my arm reached back to knock the gun out of his hand, I instantly froze. The three patch rag falling on his chest was a red light flashing in my eyes. Immediately, I stopped, putting my hands in front of me. I would never touch a brother, outside of the ring that is.
The man standing in front of me caught my breath and short-circuited my senses. His broad shoulders were covered with a skin-tight, black t-shirt and leather rag adorned with several patches that fit him like a glove. His bulging arms were covered in tattoos from the wrist up. They were flexed, one pointed the gun with precision, and the other was fisted at his side. His light caramel hair was cut short on the sides, but longer on the top, begging for a woman’s fingers to run through it. His beard was cut very short to his skin making my mouth water, wondering what it would feel like between my thighs. His sapphire eyes narrowed at me as I stared effortlessly in them, becoming entranced unable to speak.
“What the fuck is going on here?” Breaking from this man’s stare, I focused on the familiar voice I’ve missed for too long. Pops eyes swept the room quickly, and when his eyes landed on mine, the anger in them instantly faded. “What the hell’s going on?” He eyed the man with the gun pointed directly at my head and he clenched his hands into fists.
“Hey, Pops,” I said, turning my eyes back to the beautiful specimen in front of me, wanting him to know that I wasn’t afraid. If I needed a bullet in my head, so be it. I wouldn’t shy away.
“You know this bitch?” the hot asshole in front of me clipped, and my lip curled slowly. If he wasn’t wearing that rag, I’d show him how much of a bitch I could be.
“Put the damn gun down, Cruz,” Pops said jokingly. The anger dripping off this man’s face in front of me told me he didn’t see anything funny about this. He began to take a step closer. “Cruz. Stop!” Pops barked loudly as the other guys started walking up behind him. Cruz instantly stopped, but kept the gun on me. “Cruz, this is my daughter, Princess.”
“Shit. Are you fucking kidding me?” Cruz’s anger was actually pretty funny, and I had to stifle the small laugh that wanted to escape. I had too much respect to let it fly. But the shocked look on his face was pretty priceless coming from a tattooed hot-ass. I probably should have told him that sooner, but what can I say … I was born a bitch.
“No, I’m not fucking kidding you. Get the fuck away from her, and put the goddamn gun down.” Moving my head to Pops, I could see he was fuming. Whenever Pops was mad, his forehead turned bright red, and the lines throughout it became more prominent along with the vein that ticked with this heartbeat. It’s a look I always hated growing up, and it used to scare the ever-loving shit out of me.
My eyes flicked back while Cruz took one more look at me. “If you’re still pissed later, we can meet in the ring.” I smiled my damnedest. I could see the smoke threatening to come out of his ears. Confusion laced his eyes, but I wasn’t about to explain right now. I held out my hand to Cruz, “Nice to meet ya. I’m Harlow.” He stared me down as if he was hoping he could make me combust into a million pieces. Sorry Buddy, your super powers won’t work. I’ve been here too long to let that get me.
He tentatively lowered the gun, putting it behind his back, bringing his hand to mine. My hand slipped into his warm, rough, strong grip, a shock raced through my body, beginning at my connected hand and racing all the way through to my feet setting my body on fire. “Cruz.”

Pop … pop … pop … Gun fire rang out as a black cage drove past with its side door wide open. Grabbing my gun, I fired back in quick reaction and dropped behind the porch post. The front door flew open as Princess stormed out, gun pointed and firing with great aim, hitting the cage repeatedly. The shots kept coming, and Princess didn’t flinch or shy away. She ducked a few times, but kept moving.
We were both in a dead sprint to our bikes firing them up and taking off after the cage. Weaving in and out of traffic, we kept on its tail, firing shots back and forth. I couldn’t help the hard-on I got watching Princess shoot while still maneuvering her bike effortlessly. Not the time for that shit.
Pulling up besides the cage, I began shooting rapidly, hitting one of the guys. Princess’s shots hit another who fell out, causing her to stop her bike abruptly, unable to swerve out of the way. Shooting again, I aimed for the tires, but fucking missed as it spun off. There was no way I was leaving her alone out here.
Turning back around, I reached Princess who was down on the ground checking out the shooter. “Dead?”
“Yeah.” Grabbing my phone I called Dagger giving him our current location and advising clean up. I knew it would only take about five minutes before the cavalry came in.
“You all right?” Looking at her, I could see she seemed fine, no blood anywhere, but being a woman you never know how they react to this shit.
“I’m good.” She smiled. “Home, sweet home. You know this guy?”
“Looks like one of Rabbit’s crew.” Damn it. Rabbit’s known for running drugs throughout the state and we have dealings with him. This can’t be good.
“I take it he’s one of the everyone that Diamond wants me to be careful of, huh?” She looked as if she was studying the body before her, lifting up the shirt, taking in all the ink and marks on it totally unfazed she was looking at a dead body.
“Somethin’ like that.” The roar of bikes in the distance snapped me into action. “Get your ass on your bike and go back to Ma’s house. I’ll send some guys over.”
If looks could kill, I’d be lying dead next to the man on the road. “I’m just as much a part of this as you are,” she growled out. It was sexy as hell, but her trying to control shit was gonna stop quick.
“I’m not gonna say it again. Fucking go. Now.” I ordered.
“If you remember, it was my fucking shot that killed the bastard.” She stood up heading towards her bike. I could see in her face it was killing her to have to leave the scene, but she listened and headed back the way we came. I held in my chuckle. Damn woman.
