Just then, Reed came flying out the back door. “Motherfucking
son of a bitch. I’m going to kill him!” he yelled as he made his way to the
ranch truck.
I jumped up and wiped the tears away. “Whit, did Layton tell
Reed?” I asked as I saw Reed picking up the pace when he started jogging to the
ranch truck. I took off after him.
“Um…”
“Whit!”
“Okay, well, he called Reed and told him to go fire Mitch,”
Whitley said in a panicked voice.
“What? Oh my God! Okay…well, listen, sweetheart, everything
will be fine here! Enjoy your honeymoon.”
“Wait! What? You can’t just end a call like that, Courtney.”
After running and catching up, I stood in front of the ranch
truck. “Yeah, I can. I’ve got to go. Reed seems really pissed.”
I hung up the phone and ran around to the passenger side of
the truck. I jumped in, and Reed hit the gas, throwing me back into the seat.
“Jesus, Reed. Where in the hell are you going?” I asked as I
desperately tried to get the seat belt on.
I glanced at Reed while he was mumbling something about
killing Mitch for hurting me.
“Uh…Reed, can you put on your seat belt?” I asked.
He snapped his head over to me. “What?” He shook his head and
pushed down on the gas.
I sat back and closed my eyes. Shit, shit, shit! I shouldn’t have said anything. How stupid of me to
think that Layton wouldn’t tell Reed.
Layton had been looking for an excuse to get rid of Mitch
ever since he found out that Mitch had been in contact with Layton’s father all
those years and never told him.
By the time we pulled up to Mitch’s place, my heart was
beating a mile a minute. There was a Nissan parked next to Mitch’s truck.
That must be her car.
“Fucking son of a bitch,” Reed said.
I grabbed his arm. “Reed, please don’t do this.”
He turned to look at me, and his eyes were filled with
tears. I sucked in a breath of air and let go of his arm.
“He hurt you, Courtney. I really wish you had told me last
night. Now, stay in the truck, Court.”
He jumped out and took off. Before he made it onto the porch,
Mitch came out.
“Oh shit,” I whispered.
Mitch smiled at Reed and then looked at me in the truck. “You
get what you wished for last night?” Mitch asked.
Wait, what in the hell
does he mean by that?
“You motherfucker,” Reed said as he walked up to Mitch and
punched the hell out of him.
I screamed and jumped out of the truck. By the time I made
it to the porch, Reed was on top of Mitch, beating the shit out of him. Karen
came running out, yelling for Reed to stop. She came to a halt when she saw me.
She put her hand up to her mouth and then looked back at Reed on top of Mitch.
I couldn’t move. A part of me wanted Reed to beat the hell out of Mitch, and
the other part wanted him to stop.

When a tragic

let into his heart walked away from him, leaving his heart shattered, Layton
focuses all of his time and energy into the ranch he and his brother dreamed
of. He makes a vow to himself to never let love in again. The last thing Layton

Whitley Reynolds
grew up in a privileged home in upstate New York. When she landed the star
football player in high school no one was surprised, not even Whitley. She

“Will you do me a favor? I’m going to slowly start driving.
Will you lean out and take a look at the tire? Tell me if everything looks
okay.”
She nodded as she
grabbed on to the bar. She leaned out the side of the Jeep. “Okay…ready.”
I smiled and gunned it while I held the brake down. Mud flew
up everywhere, and she let out a scream that I was sure Mimi and her husband
Frank would hear.
I let off the gas and looked over toward her. She was
covered in mud.
“Oops. Sorry.”
Her mouth dropped open, and she balled up her fists. “You
asshole! My eyes are burning from the mud in them, you fuckwad!”
I lost it and started laughing. I laughed so hard that I was
pretty sure I’d snorted once or twice.
Whitley jumped out and began walking away.
“Where are you going?” I called after her.
“As far away from you as I can get!”
She turned and walked backward as she shot me the finger
with both hands. Then, she dropped out of sight.
I jumped out of the Jeep and ran over to her.
“Shit! Oh shit! Oh my God…shit!” She cried out over and over
as she held on to her ankle.
“Sweetheart, what’s wrong? Whit, what’s wrong?” I dropped to
my knees.
She looked up at me, and the next thing I knew, I had a
handful of mud in my face. She smeared it all over my face and down my neck.
She started laughing, but then she quickly stopped when I looked at her.
“You better run,” I said, glaring at her.
“What?” She jumped up and started to run.
I gave her a good thirty-second head start before I went
after her. She kept looking back at me, laughing. She ran up to a group of
oaks.
“You think a few trees are going to stop me?” I asked with a
sly smile.
“Layton, let’s just call a truce, okay? Truce ’cause I’m
itching all over. I really need to get this mud off of me.”
I shook my head. “Oh no, Miss Reynolds. Payback is a bitch.”
“Wait! You got mud on me first! I was paying you back.”
I acted like I was going to run to the left and then made a
sharp move to the right. She screamed and tried to go left, but then she
slipped. I ran up to her, picked her up, and threw her over my shoulder. I
looked up and saw we were near the hunter’s cabin. There was a tank right
around the bend next to the cabin.
Oh yeah, her ass is
going in the tank.
“Layton, put me down! Layton! Oh. My. God. No, Layton, no!
Where are you taking me?”
She must have seen the tank because she started kicking and
screaming.
“Scream all you want, honey. No one can hear you!” I
laughed.
“Mimi! Frank!” she yelled out. “I know sound travels in the
country.”
“Whit, it’s pouring. No one can hear you.”
I smacked her ass, and she let out another scream.
“You’re crazy! Layton, please…I’ll do anything.”
I walked up to the edge of the tank and saw a snake. Shit. She lucked out!
I turned around and saw a huge mud puddle. I started walking
toward the cabin.
“Oh, thank God! I thought you were going to throw me in the
tank.”
“I was…but I saw a snake.”
She started screaming and kicking again. “Oh my God! Put me
down! I just want to go back to the house. I want down, Layton! Now!”
“You want down?”
“Yes! Right now, you asshole!”
“Okay then.” I dropped her right into the mud puddle.
My 4.5 Star Review:
Broken was a beautiful story. It is about two broken people
who have to work at overcoming the hurt and pain in their lives to move forward
and live a happy life.
Layton, never understood why his father left him and his
brother one day. Then to have Mike taken away from him and the one person he
let into his heart walk away from him he has dealt with being hurt and
heartbroken and has been broken ever since.
Whitley after convincing her parents to let her run off to
NY with her fiancé she finds out that life with him is not the best it should
be. When something terrible happens that pushes her over the edge she gets with
her best friend Courtney and they decide to move to Texas far from her fiancé and
start over.
Once Whitley and Layton run into each other a sequence of
events happen that continue to make them run into each other. Can these two
people mend each other’s broken hearts and heal their pain together? Will
Whitley let Layton in and will Layton let Whitley into his heart?
I did love the story. My 4.5 star review is based on the
fact that I thought they fell in love a little too quick. I wish there had been
a little more of a buildup of their relationship. Kelly did do a fantastic job
with keeping me wanting to read more and not wanting to put my kindle down.

My rating: 5 of 5 starsWho ends a book like that ? Ohh wait Kelly Elliott does , Damn woman that was no epilogue that was the worse Teaser this side of the USA .. I don’t even know how the heck that all happened .
I’m going to keep this simple on my thoughts because I sure do not want to spoil this book for anyone . You have to read it totally spoil free in order to get the full effect of the complete story and ever person in it.
I loved Wanted and Saved was one hundred times better in my opinion. We got to know EVERYONE all over again and move through life with them ALL . I love this group of friends , they Put a whole new meaning on a close knit bunch .
We started out Saved right where Wanted ended with Jeff and Ari . Their story was not all roses and chocolate like Gunner and Ellie’s was . Theirs was more like Hard Roller coaster ride . Between Them and Gunner and Ellie and then Heather and Josh . Holy CRAP-TASTIC it was a hell of a ride .
“God, Ari…I love you so much, baby. I hope that I’ve only just started making your dreams come true.”
It was great to have Gunner, Ellies, Heather & Josh's POV's along the way. Makes for a great story. Along with Ari’s and Jeff’s POV .
I LOVE Ari , her sarcasm just makes me laugh so much , She is not afraid to give what for or to tell you exactly how she feels . She holds nothing back at all .
Jeff , so gentle I loved him , and felt for him but other times I wanted to strangle him and his way of thinking.
I loved having Gunner and Ellie in this book and seeing them move through life after their wedding and honeymoon.
My God I absolutely LOVED Matty , that little Boy had me laughing my butt off everytime he opened his mouth “ ASSMOLE “ all time favorite and definitely a new word I will be using a lot of .
So much crying in this story but I can understand what with all the hormones flying around. One minute they are laughing their butts off and the next minute they are balling their eyes out lol .
“You literally saved me Arianna.”
Josh and Heather OMG , talk about another Ari & Jeff . they are worse then Ari and Jeff were in wanted . The storyline is Great though don’t get me wrong , but jesus how many times can you hurt someone or yourself before you realize your meant to be together
That epilogue was no dang epilogue it was a major WTF just happened , and Who the hell is Victoria ????? I can NOT WAIT for Faithful . I truly hope that Heather gets her HEA.
