I have read every single book in the Consequences Series and I can honestly say that this one if my favorite of the entire series.
For those of you that have only read Consequences, Truth, & Convicted you can definitely read this one without reading the Novella’s of Behind His Eyes Consequences and Behind His Eyes Truth.
This is the perfect end to an amazing series. Aleatha tells us this story through more than just Tony’s eyes. We get the point of views from Phil (Roach), Harry Baldwin, John Vandersol, and Brent Simmons also. I wondered how Aleatha was going to pull this off with these added POV’s and I was a little nervous I will admit, but I will say that with Aleatha adding these men’s POV’s you get so many more answers to the puzzle. She did a Phenomenal job of bringing this series to an end.
I will also admit, that I loved seeing the struggles that Tony went through. His time spent away from Claire really made him see the light in the way he had been acting and behaving. On more than one occasion Aleatha had me in tears… And I NEVER thought I would shed a tear for Tony and I did more than once. After reading the entire series, Aleatha has finally succeeded in Tony being let into my heart and by the end of the book I loved him.
This is the final pieces to the puzzle, we get the much needed answers that some of us had been looking for throughout this series. We see who was fired from Rawlings Industries, We watch Harry Learn all there is to know about his sister….. and it is not pretty at all.
I love how dedicated Phil (Roach) was to this family. We saw things in a different light with his POV and it was amazing to see how much he truly cared for Claire and Nichol.
Tony’s reaction and the whole scene with Brent and Courtney about who helped Claire with her pardon, Aleatha had me in tears.
It is definitely a story with twists and turns. That will leave you saying WOW when you are done. Once you have all the pieces to the puzzle you will totally understand everything there is to know about Tony and Claire.
I want to thank Aleatha for bringing me one hell of a series. I have enjoyed every single word that I have read with this series and I am sure going to miss getting more from Tony and Claire.

Glancing
at the numerous pictures from his years of surveillance, Tony wondered if he
and Claire had come full circle. Would it
be like this again? Would his only connection to her be through this new investigator?
Would he only see Claire in two dimensions? Tony searched for their
contract, the beginning of their personal journey together. He knew it wouldn’t
be that easy again. If he were to get her back to Iowa and into his life, it
wouldn’t be because of a signature on a napkin.
Then
he shook his head. He didn’t want her back, did he? Hell, the lack of sleep was
making him sentimental. He stopped his search. The damn contract was no longer
valid; it never had been—legally. Pushing the box back into its hideaway, he
contemplated throwing it all away. Having her back wasn’t his goal; learning
her location was. She had no right to disappear.
With
the necklace in his hand, Tony settled upon the soft leather sofa in front of
his fireplace. If Phillip Roach were correct, in a few moments he’d hear the
voice that used to fill his suite and his house. When her voice came through
his phone, Tony wanted to feel her
presence. He imagined the sound as he looked up at her wedding portrait and saw
the emerald green that haunted his dreams. What
did he want to hear? He wanted to know she was safe and unharmed. He wanted
to know where she was, and he also wanted to bring her back to Iowa—because
that was where she belonged.
It
didn’t make sense. To the world she was the woman who tried to kill him. To
Tony she was more than that. The past twenty hours had proven it. She was his
drug. Claire Nichols ran through his system like ecstasy, sending him on
otherwise unobtainable highs. He reasoned that lows followed highs, and she’d
given him those, too; they’d given them to each other. Nevertheless, without
the right stimulant, the euphoria could never again be achieved. Whether it was
elation or misery, neither would be obtainable without the exhilarating potency
of Claire. He didn’t want an empty envelope. He wanted her. Nathaniel was
wrong: Claire wasn’t gone; she was just misplaced.

My 5 Star Review:
Something to know about this book. It is not a standalone, rather it is a companion to the Consequences Series. You would need to read the entire series of Consequences to understand this book.
One thing I love about Aleatha is her ability to write the entire Consequences series and then turn around and write this companion series Of Consequences Behind His Eyes All from Tony's Point of View. She keeps you intrigued, She has got everything together and the story follows amazingly. There are no hiccups at all where things do not make sense. She has brought things together from Tony's point of view Beautifully.
In this Book we get more from Tony's point of view and we start off with Claire and her pardon. We see first hand in the mind of the controller how it was for him to not be in control and finding out weeks later about Claire's pardon sends Tony on a spiral of trying to gain his control back.
I loved getting the parts from Truth in Tony's point of view. He is the Most intense man I have ever had the pleasure of reading about. In this one we get so much more intensity from Tony. We see just how manipulated he truly is. Watching him come undone was remarkable in itself. In the end watching Tony actually have feelings and the change that comes to him was amazing. He truly does have a heart and you know he truly does love Claire. He will stop at nothing to prove to her that he does truly love her and wants to spend the rest of his life with her as his wife.
I can not wait for the next installment and some more of being inside of Tony's head.

When Tony crawled back into his bed, he slid behind Claire’s sleeping body and wrapped her in his arms. She fit perfectly as he was drawn to her radiating warmth. Gently kissing her hair, he tasted her perfume as his hands wandered her curves, caressing her soft skin. Her soft murmurs filled his heart with hope as she settled into his embrace. Smiling, Tony imagined that in a few days he’d have his wife on a sunny beach with nothing more than a bikini—maybe not even that. Those images and more filled his mind as he drifted off to sleep.
When he woke, Tony lingered longer than usual in the warmth of their bed. Being much too early for Claire to wake, he lifted his head, rested it on his elbow, and watched her sleep. Her lightened hair covered her pillow as renegade strands crisscrossed her exposed cheek. Along with her exposed face, one bare shoulder was visible above the mound of luxurious blankets. Tony leaned closer, kissed her forehead, and watched in amusement as her nose wrinkled. Lightly, he kissed her again. This time he was rewarded with the most beautiful moan as she stretched and turned toward him. Although Claire was still sound asleep, she subconsciously responded to his touch. He wanted to wake her, but he feared that if her warm soft skin touched his and they connected their bodies, as they’d been connected the night before, he wouldn’t be able to carry out his plan.
Brushing the strands of blonde from her face, he whispered, “You don’t need to wake, yet.” When she didn’t respond and he was confident of her sleeping, he added, “You have a big day, my dear. You need your rest. Tonight we’ll celebrate.”
Throughout Tony’s morning routine, he avoided thoughts of Claire’s impending examination. To him it was merely a formality—the final signature on their life long contract. The deal was already complete; she belonged to him—she wouldn’t disappoint.
She knew better; because, if she did, he’d promised consequences. And Anthony Rawlings was a man of his word.
My 5 Star Review
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!!
Being able to go back into certain sections of Consequences
and seeing everything from Tony’s POV truly is Intense. We do not get the whole
book again, what Aleatha has done is given us the truly important sections out
of Consequences through Tony’s eye’s. It
was great to get some answers to some of my questions I had and wondered what
Tony was thinking when he did that.
I hated him in Consequences, began to love him in Truth and
was rooting for him in Convicted. Now I
am back to hating him again. Is that even possible? Damn right it is. Tony is
one sly evil man. He is manipulative, he is stealthy, he is downright all for
himself in this book. I read it
firsthand now. We all know by the end of
all of this I will love him again, but right now I strongly dislike him.
You know what to expect with each scene because we have read
Consequences, but seeing it again through Tony’s eyes makes it a little bit
more terrifying. I definitely felt everything all over again while reading this
companion book.
The intensity with seeing how much he enjoyed the fact that
he OWNED Claire, truly was creepy. He enjoyed taunting her, pushing limits with
her.

Rawlings did not fail… He would teach Claire that there were consequences.”
Claire, we all felt for her in Consequences. Going
through these scenes again with Claire, brought back all my heartfelt worry for
her. She did not know which way to go, what was going to happen next at any one
moment in time. You feel the intensity of Tony with her throughout the whole
story all over again.
Was she truly
that strong? What were her limits? Could she be broken?
Seeing the parts that Catherine played in this one also
answered some questions I had as well. You get to see exactly what Catherine thinks
and more about the whole situation with Tony kidnapping Claire. Throughout the
whole story you know she is truly only out for one thing and there is not
changing Catherine.
"Months ago, he's taken a strong woman and refined her. Tony supposed it was like the process with gold, where excessive heat removed impurities. In his process, he'd taken Claire into the fire and come away with the perfect companion - wife? Without planning to do so, he and Catherine had created the perfect Mrs. Rawlings."

1. What if I don’t remember one or some of the scenes you chose for BEHIND HIS EYES?
I have included references at the beginning of each chapter to help you, if you want, to associate the scene Tony is experiencing with the scene in CONSEQUENCES, for example: Chapter 7 of BHE CONSEQUENCES is entitled: The Accident—September 2010, (Consequences—Chapter 19). That way, if you don’t remember the accident scene, you can go back and read it in Consequences. Honestly, it is kind of fun, perhaps not with that scene, to see how things and actions are perceived differently by the opposite POV.
2. Is BEHIND HIS EYES CONSEQUENCES a standalone book?
No. Truthfully, if you only read BEHIND HIS EYES CONSEQUENCES it would not make sense. It is only 62,000 words, as opposed to CONSEQUENCES which was 167,000 words. This is a reading companion. I don’t recommend reading it until you have completed the entire CONSEQUENCES SERIES. If you would read it directly after CONSEQUENCES some of the surprises in TRUTH would be revealed.
3. What is something that we don’t know about your books?
I have made an effort to include all of my children’s and my niece and nephew’s names in my books. In most cases they aren’t the main characters. (I have no relatives named Claire or Anthony) However, beginning in Truth I slipped their names in as tertiary characters. In some cases I used a first name as a last name. BEHIND HIS EYES CONSEQUENCES contains a glossary of characters. That glossary will grow with each reading companion.
4. Tell us something that you think is fun about your books.
Well, besides using my family members’ names, I sometimes use whatever I see or hear. For example, I was watching The Big Bang Theory with my daughter as I was writing the original accident scene in CONSEQUENCES. That is why the attending doctor’s name is Dr. Leonard. We were driving to Florida while I was writing some scenes in CONVICTED. I looked up and saw a billboard for Fairfield Resorts. That is how another character was named Dr. Fairfield. Honestly, that list could go on and on. So, I guess you could say it was a matter of convenience.

“Thank you, Tony,”
she replied. “This has been an amazing night. How can I ever thank you?”
He pulled her close, feeling the pressure of her breasts
against his chest. Turning off the riding lights, he smiled a devilish grin. “I
have a few ideas.”
Claire’s glance darted toward the dark glass partition
separating the back from the front of the car.
Tony laughed. “I promise we’re alone; Eric can’t see or
hear us.” He leaned toward her. She instinctively reached for his neck and

accomplishment. She maintained their gaze as her small hand fumbled for the hem
of her dress. “I can’t reach—”
Tony wouldn’t let her finish—he couldn’t. He needed to
taste her. Entwining his fingers in her loose ringlets of hair, he tilted her
lips upward and heard a small moan before his mouth seized hers. Unable to
soften his approach, he took what was his. It wasn’t enough—he wanted more.
When his tongue probed, her lips parted allowing him to enter her warmth. Tony
savored her sweetness as her arms once again encircled his neck. With his other
hand, he reached for the hem of her dress and the cabin filled with her
whimpers of anticipation.
He slowly lifted the beaded material and teasingly
brushed her inner thigh. “Open your legs for me,” he commanded.
She obeyed and he continued to caress her soft skin. When
her breathing labored and he neared his destination, Tony stopped. Releasing
her hair, he sat up and gazed down at her blushed cheeks, smudged lipstick, and
nearly exposed body. Grinning, he murmured, “You were amazing tonight.”
Softly, she replied, “Thank you.”
Leaning back, he reminded her. “But the night isn’t
over.” His playful tone vanished. “Now, lift your dress and let me see if you
have truly behaved.”
Slowly reaching for the length of material, Claire kept
her eyes fixed on his. As the material rose, she replied, “I promise, Tony,
I’ve followed your rules.”
He couldn’t help but think how beautiful she
looked—offering herself to him. That, combined with the sound of her calling
him by his personal name, was enough to release the painful tightness in his
slacks. It seemed unreal that he could be on the verge of exploding, and she’d
yet to touch him. Surprisingly, at that moment, that wasn’t what he wanted. He
yearned for something else, and they both knew his desires came first.
