Interview, Blog Tour, & Giveaway for Red Zone By Author Sherri Hayes

I am excited to announce that today we are Hosting an interview with Sherri as well as an Ebook Copy giveaway of Red Zone !!!!!

Welcome Sherri To My Blog , I am happy to have you here with us today .
Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m thirty-five, and I live in Ohio with my husband and three cats. Red Zone is my fifth full length novel. I also have a short holiday story, A Christmas Proposal, which was originally published as part of an anthology. I didn’t start writing until shortly after I turned thirty. After watching a television series with my husband, I became frustrated with the way they were handling the love story between two of the main characters, and decided I wanted to give them their happily ever after. Fast forward three years…my current publisher contacted me after reading one of my online stories and offered me a contract. As they say, the rest is history.

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

Growing up, my mom would read to me. As I got older, I began steering toward romance novels, and got hooked on a series called Sweet Dreams. They’re a lot like Harlequins, except they are for pre-teens. Once I started reading romances, I was hooked.

Is anything in your book based on real life experiences or purely all imagination?

There is a little bit of myself in all my characters, but for the most part it’s my imagination. I’ve always had stories floating around in my head. The only difference is that now I type them into the computer, and share them with the world.

Are there certain characters you would like to go back to, or is there a theme or idea you’d love to work with?

One of the reasons I love a series is because you get to revisit characters from previous books. In Red Zone, we get to see Chris and Elizabeth again from Behind Closed Doors along with the rest of the Daniels clan. As the series continues, the brothers, as well as their significant others, will make more appearances.

What is the best thing (in your opinion) about being a writer?

I get to tell stories for a living, and share them with others. There is something indescribable about being able to hold a book you’ve written in your hands. I still get a thrill of excitement when the first copy of my newest book arrives.

In Red Zone we meet Gage and Rebecca , What Made you decide to pair a Football Star with an FBI agent

Gage’s profession was decided in Behind Closed Doors where I first introduced the brothers. Based on his personality, I knew he needed a strong woman. The stalker element added to the mix and I got the idea for Rebecca. Strong, and not Gage’s normal type of woman, which in my opinion, made her perfect.

What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?

The toughest criticisms are usually the ones that are of a more personal nature. I’d have to say the most difficult one I’ve read has been that I’m ‘milking’ my readers by drawing out my Finding Anna Series into four books instead of making it one since it’s a continuing story. Unfortunately, most readers don’t understand that publishers have certain criteria for stories they publish, which includes length in most cases. The series was broken up due to those standards, and the way the story itself breaks down. As I said, though, most readers don’t realize the author has limited control over things like that.

I’m lucky in that some of my stories have touched a lot of people. One of the best compliments I’ve received, however, was from a fan who shared with me what my Finding Anna Series has meant to her life. She went through some of the same things my character has, and was rescued by a man who is now her husband. Both she and her husband are huge fans of mine, and she’s told me that my stories have helped her continue to move forward with her life and find strength. I’m not sure an author could get any better compliment than that.

What project are you working on now?

Right now, I’m in the middle of edits for Truth, Finding Anna Book 3, which is due out this summer. I’ve also started work on the last book in that series. Hopefully, I will be able to have that out to readers the first part of next year.

Do you have any advice to give to aspiring writers?

Write stories you like, and that you’d want to read. You’re never going to please every reader, but you can make sure you’re proud of what you’ve put on the page.

Is there anything that you would like to say to your readers and fans?

I have some wonderful fans, and I’m grateful for each and every one of them. Some of them have been with me since the beginning, and I wouldn’t be where I am today in my writing career without them.

Summary of Red Zone: After a case ended badly for Rebecca Carson, she’s losing her mind sitting around her apartment waiting on her superiors to allow her to return to work. Since she was a teenager, the only thing she’d ever wanted was to join the FBI. Now that dream was in danger. Gage Daniels has made a pretty good life for himself. A nice house. A career he loves. As a professional football player, he’s used to getting almost everything he’d ever want with just the snap of his fingers. This includes women. A well-timed smile is usually all it takes to attract the opposite sex, especially in Nashville. When a stalker threatens Gage, the team owner calls an old friend, Rebecca’s ex-partner Travis Hansen, to help protect his star quarterback and find the person responsible. Hansen offers Rebecca the job, and she jumps at the chance. It’s work, and it will get her out of her apartment. How bad can it be? Posing as Gage’s girlfriend, however, isn’t as easy as it seems. The man is relentless. Rebecca must work to protect Gage while staving off his advances. She’s there to do a job, nothing more. The last thing she wants is to be another notch on a hotshot athlete’s belt. As the stalker continues to up the ante, Rebecca finds it harder and harder to keep her distance from Nashville’s star quarterback. He isn’t what she expected in one of the city’s most notorious playboys. Now all she has to do is keep him safe until they can find his stalker, and hope she doesn’t lose her heart in the process.

Sherri is the author of four novels: Hidden Threat,Slave (Finding Anna Book 1), Need (Finding Anna Book 2), Behind Closed Doors (A Daniels Brothers’ Novel), Red Zone (A Daniels Brothers’ Novel), and a short story, A Christmas Proposal. She lives in central Ohio with her husband and three cats. Her mother fostered her love for books at a young age by reading to her as a child. Stories have been floating around in her head for as long as she can remember; however, she didn’t start writing them down until she turned thirty. It has become a creative outlet that allows her to explore a wide range of emotions, while having fun taking her characters through all the twists and turns she can create. When she’s not writing, she can usually be found helping her husband in his woodworking shop.
