Book Review - Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This Book pulled me right in from the start. I know every book does , but this one did it differently . It was very well written and kept me turning the pages from the beginning to see what was going to happen next .

Following the unexpected death of her father, 18-year-old Layken is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she's losing hope.
Enter Will Cooper: The attractive, 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for slam poetry and a unique sense of humor. Within days of their introduction, Will and Layken form an intense emotional connection, leaving Layken with a renewed sense of hope.
Not long after an intense, heart-stopping first date, they are slammed to the core when a shocking revelation forces their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together, and the secret that keeps them apart

Life wants you to fight it.
Learn how to make it your own. ”

Will, is definitely someone anybody can fall in love with. The poem he made about death is just full of emotion and I felt it .His sense of responsibility is really touching too, he loves Caulder so much, and he would do anything to make sure that his little brother is happy. He knew his brother would not be happy without him and he did what needed to be done to make sure they stuck together .

Lake , Comes from Texas after the sudden death of her father . he mother packs her and her brother up and move to Michigan . It is there after pulling the U-Haul into the driveway that she meets Caulder and Will . there is an instant connection between her and Will . Kinda a Strong love at first sight , but more then that . They talk , start to hang out and Will takes her to a club that does Slam Poetry . She loves it , loves his Poem that he has done , and realizes there is a much more major connection between the two of them through the death of a parent.

“Push your boundaries, that's what they're there for.”

Caulder and Kel’s relationship was amazing through this book , They hit it off right from the start and became the best of friends . which was awesome for both of them . They had me laughing throughout the whole book at little things they said and did .

This is a story of Love , heartache, death, and Life . This is a must read for everyone . it brought tears to my eyes more then once . but then also brought tears of Joy to my eyes in the end . This is a HEA story and it is well worth the read .

“So you keep your ocean, I'll take the Lake.”
